This weekend was the wedding of Tony and Katy Rex. I was excited about this wedding not only because it was in Florida (DUH!!) but also because Katy is a photographer herself and she was excited about the photography for her own wedding. Katy and Tony booked me the day that they became engaged, so we've become friends over the last year and a half. My assisitant Renee and I were treated SO WELL by the Rex family and Mama Dot. Mama Dot has become a, kind of, surrogate mother for Katy since Katy lost her mom recently. She was a gracious and charitable host and was essential in making the whole week run smoothly. Tony's parents have practically adopted Katy because they get along so great and they really seemed to take great care of Katy and Tony all week. The weekend was filled with fun, food, drinks, laughter (a lot of it, somehow, aimed at me ;) and some tears, but it was definitely a smashing success (no pun intended guys :)
The wedding was coordinated by Siesta Key Events and they did a great job, very seamless. I would like to thank Tammie for all of her hard work in making our job easier. The wedding day started with a Mimosa party with just the ladies then moved to the absolutely gorgeous beach on Siesta Key and ended with a wonderful reception at Michael's On East a beautiful restaurant/wine cellar in Sarasota, Florida.
The next day we had another photo session on the beach at sunset. Mama Dot then took us to the Siesta Key drum circle which happens every Sunday. This was quite an experience filled with every type of character imaginable and we thouroughly enjoyed the experience. Tony and Katy jumped into the circle for some dancing and even had a chance to bang on the Austrailian Wedding Drum (at least that is what the dreadlocked drummer who guided them to it called it). Overall it was a fantastic weekend.
Renee and I would like to thank Tony, Katy, The Rex family and Mama Dot for treating us so well, allowing us the extreme honor in taking part in this day and especially for all of the Yuengling.
I will be blogging for the next week or so on this wonderful day. Until then, here are a few more images from the day and, remember, IT WAS SALMON!!!
Renee thought of the concept of this last image. So, everyone, all at once, "Good job, Renee!!"
